RENE G. HALEY INITIATIVE EVENTS

THERESA BANKS HOME SWIM MEET

The mission of Theresa Banks Swim Club (TBSC) is to provide youths, between the ages of 5 and 18, the opportunity to participate in age group competitive swimming, to develop advanced swimming skills, to excel in a sport, to meet new people, and have a lot of fun. TBSC emphasizes a team concept where swimmers of every ability level can benefit from the social and mental conditioning, responsibility, and self-discipline.

TBSC is recognized throughout the Glenarden community and Prince George's County as one of the most outstanding swim clubs in the metropolitan area. Rene was a member of the TBSC Sharks from five to 17 years old.

The RGHI advisory committee cheered on the TBSC and took the mic to tell members, coaches, and parents about the RGHI Mission. Theresa Banks is also one of the grant awardees from 2022. Thank you RGHI advisory committee; they showed up to support the team and looked great doing it!

1ST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

Our sincerest thank you from the Rene G. Haley Initiative for your participation and support at our first annual awards program and reception. In just three months from inception (December 2021), we raised over $50K to support three deserving nonprofit organizations that provide services through sports programs for youth and young adults. The room was filled with love, excitement and gratitude as we awarded $7500 each to, The Prather Foundation, New World Sports Club, and Theresa Banks Swim Club

.

We look forward to our next event and to gifting more funds to deserving organizations to support the young people in our communities. Thank you for your continued donations; let’s keep it going in the name of Rene G. Haley, a sportsman, a friend, and a loving son.

The Rene G. One of our grant awardees, New World Basketball faced RGHI's "The Village" basketball team in an exciting challenge game.  In the end, the game was close but young’ins  of New World were victorious of the “old heads”, The Village.  See you next year New World.
