RENE G. HALEY INITIATIVE
ABOUT
Our not-for-profit, Tax-Exempt organization honors the legacy of a young man who was authentic and purposeful. Rene's life's potential and future were cut short by a tragic automobile accident on July 3, 2021. Inspired by Rene's passion for sports, the Rene G. Haley Initiative will empower youth and young adults.
THE VISION
As a Not-for-Profit Organization, the Rene G. Haley Initiative seeks to realize our Vision and achieve our Mission by supporting recreational, sporting, and educational opportunities for young people in all communities nationwide, beginning the RGH Initiative support in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The RGH Initiative can benefit from the involvement and support of everyone who believes that we have a vested interest in the future of youth and young adults. Stakeholders can become directly connected to the RGH Initiative, our Mission, Vision, and Rene’s Legacy through individual contributions, organizational funding and resources, corporate sponsorships and donations, and volunteerism. The future of our youth depends on programs like these offered by the RGH Initiative. Rene’s peers, across the nation will champion the RGH Initiative, to bring encouragement, education, and information to their communities.
THE MISSION
The Mission of the Rene G. Haley Initiative is to support recreational, sporting, and educational opportunities for young people in all communities, with emphasis on those communities that are often overlooked or under served. The RGH Initiative Mission provides support for alternative sporting activities like, swimming, skateboarding, snowboarding, flag football and others, to community-based organizations and groups. These were Rene’s favorite activities from a very young age, and he continued to enjoy them as a young adult. Diverse sporting activities raises the aspirations of young people in the true spirit of Rene G. Haley. Expanding our youth’s and young adults’ exposure to and education of alternative sports, helps them improve their athletic skills, develop friendships, teaches discipline and determination, acceptance and tolerance of others, and the value of network building.
THE FUNDING GOAL
The RGH Initiative raises funds throughout the year, from individual, foundation, government, and corporate Stakeholders, which provide RGH Initiative the resources that will allow our young people the opportunity to participate in cross sporting programs, recreational programs, and educational programs.
